Codebender is a startup company that offers an online development platform for embedded hardware users, such as electronics hobbyists, makers, interaction design artists and professional engineers worldwide. codebender lets Arduino programmers and Makers focus on development, instead of managing configurations, settings & updates, improving the way they share their projects with their teams. It makes it easy for them to get started, develop, and collaborate with each other providing the tools to make development faster, and collaboration easier.
Arduino is one of the favorite tools among open source (hardware & software) and various online communities. It is the preferred tool among the Maker movement and the 3D printer movement due to its low cost, extensibility, and ease of use. It is also a prominent tool in education and science. It is used in more than 100 Universities including UCL, NYU, MIT and Stanford and it has been also adopted by major corporations such as Apple, Microsoft, Google, and all Desktop 3D Printer companies (RepRap, MakerBot, Ultimaker, and others).
The company started its operations in 2012. It currently supports more than 80 Arduino boards and hosts more than 480 Arduino Libraries. codebender partners with hardware manufacturers all around the world such as Sparkfun, Tiny Circuits, Lightup, Microview, Olympia Circuits, Wicked Device, RedBearLab and HummingBird Robotics.
